Research shows that the protection of 58% of Southeast Asia’s threatened forests can be financially viable even at modest carbon prices, avoiding massive amounts of carbon emissions. To achieve this potential, new regulatory mechanisms and verification systems are needed to realise the potential of carbon markets.
