The 41st ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (AEM) held in Bangkok in 2009 requested to the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to undertake the Comprehensive Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint and in providing policy analyses/recommendations to the AEM in order to assess the effectiveness of the adopted measures of the AEC Blueprint. This talk will discuss the contribution of the blueprint measures such as economic growth, employment, competitiveness and social welfare within ASEAN, and provide recommendations to enhance the implementation of the AEC Blueprint to the private sector.
