3rd Singapore Green Dialogue (SGD) — The Green Growth Triangle

More than three decades after the Singapore-Johor-Riau Growth Triangle was first conceived, new opportunities are emerging for closer cooperation between these neighbouring economies. The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is deepening economic links to Singapore’s north, while Batam, Bintan and Karimun (BBK) are attracting new investment to the south. Could these developments provide the foundations for a new Green Growth Triangle? 

Today, competitiveness depends not only on traditional complementarities in land, labour and capital, but increasingly on energy, technology, connectivity and talent. New investment in advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure and green industries is creating opportunities for greater integration, while renewable energy, cross-border electricity trade (CBET) and carbon markets could help support this growth. How can Singapore, Johor, and BBK build on their respective strengths, and what will it take to translate these opportunities into commercially viable and sustainable growth? 

The 3rd Singapore Green Dialogue will bring together policymakers, business leaders and experts to examine these questions. The Dialogue will explore opportunities for greater economic integration, the conditions needed to sustain investment, and how deeper cooperation on energy and carbon markets can support competitive and sustainable growth across the region.
