The prolonged restrictions in Malaysia, as a result of the pandemic, has drastically impacted lives and livelihoods. Speaking at the SIIA’s “Crisis in Malaysia: Politicking amid the pandemic” webinar, Dr. Oh Ei Sun, Senior Fellow at the SIIA said, “People are (at their wits’ end) in terms of how to survive the pandemic. Many of them survive on daily wages but unfortunately due to the lockdown of particular sectors, they are not able to work and therefore their livelihoods are greatly affected.”
