The world is now needing to balance climate action with the pressures imposed by continued COVID-19 disruptions, geopolitical tensions, and new economic disruptions. In his welcome remarks, Associate Professor Simon Tay, Chairman, Singapore Institute of International Affairs, emphasised the need for countries to stay the course on climate action, as climate change is now an existential imperative. Efforts to strengthen economic recovery and ensure growth must synergise with climate goals.
