Singapore’s new haze law will give a strong impetus to the sharing of concession maps by agroforestry firms, as the onus is now on them to prove their innocence in the event that they are accused of causing transboundary haze.
Furthermore, companies that refuse to volunteer their maps would also come under greater scrutiny from the public and the NGOs, the SIIA said in response to The Straits Times’ query.
