It has been over six months since the military coup in Myanmar and ASEAN leaders met yesterday to discuss the appointment of the ASEAN special envoy to Myanmar. On 1 August 2021, Myanmar’s military ruler said it is “ready to work on ASEAN cooperation within the ASEAN framework, including the dialogue with the ASEAN special envoy in Myanmar”.
