Digital economy agreements are a new type of agreements which promotes collaboration on digital trade issues and encourages interoperability amongst signatories. Associate Professor Simon Tay, Chairman of the SIIA, spoke about the necessities and uncertainties in relation to digital economy agreements at “The geopolitics and economics of technology in the Indo-Pacific: Security, prosperity and values conference” on 22 March 2022. The event was organised by the EU Asia project within the Global Governance Programme at the Robert Schuman Centre – European University Institute, Florence.
