Concerns over transboundary haze have returned to focus amid dry weather and fires in parts of the region.
The SIIA’s Haze Outlook 2026, which assessed the risk of a severe transboundary haze event as Red (High Risk), has continued to inform media coverage on the factors shaping the region’s haze risk and the importance of regional preparedness and prevention.
Recent media reports have examined the outlook for Singapore, the role of weather conditions, wind direction and regional fires in determining haze risk, as well as efforts by governments and other stakeholders to prevent and manage transboundary haze.
